نبذة نيل وفرات:The Arab Economic Report represents a massive effort for surveying economic resources and developments in the Arab world. Since it was first published in 1961, in both English and Arabic, this Report has become a major source of information on the Arab economies and hence it is now an ...indispensable reference for economists, businessmen and researchers in the Arab countries and abroad.
It gives us great pleasure to publish the 14th edition of the Arab Economic Report, covering major economic developments in the Arab countries during the years 1999-2003. The country approach on which it is based provides an opportunity to compare developments among the various Arab countries and to highlight the ways in which these developments converge and inevitably diverge. In this respect, the Report highlights the avenues for regional cooperation and integration among the Arab countries, particularly in the context of globalization, which is based on technology, the dominance of free markets and privatization. It is to be emphasized that the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries, since its inception in 1951, has devoted much of its resources and efforts towards serving the private sector and promoting its role in regional development and integration.
It is hoped that this new edition of the Arab Economic report will bring about a more meaningful account and understanding of economic developments and integration in a region, which is rapidly gaining importance in the world economy. إقرأ المزيد
