نبذة الناشر:Given its control over national and international decision-making processes in Iran, an accurate understanding of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is essential to any examination of contemporary Iranian affairs. These include controversial issues for the international community such as the country’s missile program and regional ambitions, as well as ...internal developments such as the succession of a new Supreme Leader.
Hence, no logical reading of the situation in Iran can be obtained, nor an accurate study of its decision-making processes undertaken, without a clear understanding of this institution.
Although the IRGC has been the subject of extensive scholarship, much of this work has focused on the Guards’ role as a military institution. However, the Iranian Studies Unit of the Emirates Policy Center seeks to address the organization as a key actor in the Iranian impasse and a challenge that must be addressed in order to settle existing issues with the international community.
As well as detailing the IRGC’s evolution, administrative structures, weapons and force deployment, this study also sheds light on several other associated topics to provide a full and accurate portrayal of this influential organization. إقرأ المزيد
