77 Days with Rumi
تاريخ النشر: 01/01/1900
الناشر: دار نلسن
النوع: ورقي غلاف عادي
نبذة الناشر:This book starts belonging to the reader the minute the reader begins to see how much it soothes him / her and how common the feelings, the fears, the needs are between reader and writer.
- - Mona Saba Rahhal
A dialogue between the ethereal Talia and the Poet Rumi, ...this novel explores the worlds beyond science as Talia seeks the meaning that lies beyond words.
She seeks to discover and to express the purpose and harmony of the universe, the meaning of meanings. The book is an exploration of exploration; a journey into the poetry of being. 77 days with Rumi is not a book one reads about. It is a novel that nudges, prods and hugs.
- - Miskhka M. Mourani
Though fictitious since ‘Talia’ and ‘Rumi’ evidently never actually met, the book is quasi-real for the encounters have a lot of authenticity in them: 77 encounters, each one or two pages long, depicts ‘Talia’ opening up to ‘Rumi’ and sharing thoughts, fears, questions and concerns that flummox her, queries that society does not usually talk about.
In the background her mama is there, either triggering the quandaries herself or via one of her objects, or gazes.
These explorations emanate from being human in a world that, at times, seems too noisily soundless and indecipherable; a universe which stares back at you mutely when your entire being is agitated demanding responses on which it seems life depends.
Dr. Thalia (Talia) Arawi, (BA, Sociology, MA, Political and Moral Philosophy), PhDs (Philosophy and Bioethics) is Founding Director of the Salim El-Hoss Bioethics and Professionalism Program (SHBPP) at the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine and Medical Center.
She published the first book of its kind, Arabic Bioethics Dictionary, with Dr. Ruhi Baalbaki (Dar al Ilm Lil Malayin Publishers, 2018) and recently published a book, Towards a Post Flexnerian Revolution: Graduating the Virtuous Physician, AUB Press, 2022.
She has participated in a multitude of national, regional, and international conferences and has several publications on bioethics. Thalia Arawi is a relentless thinker who is constantly engaged with metaphysical and existential concerns which are at the origin of much of her entelechy in spite of her background and in addition to her professional work.
