نبذة نيل وفرات:The second meeting of the Mediterranean Development Forum-known more simply as MDF2-brought over 500 people to Marrakech, Morocco, from September 3-6 1998, to help set the development agenda within the region. Senior government officials mixed with think-tank representatives, private sector leaders, academics and others from countries in the Middle ...East and North Africa (MENA). MDF is a young forum, but already has a unique impact within the region and will continue to meet every 18 months. Its first conference-MDF1, in Marrakech during May 1997- focused on the interplay of civil society, business, and government in order to boost the region's competitiveness. The discussion at MDF2 broke new ground on the most crucial issue facing the developing word: how to enhance the participation of 'ordinary' people in the process of development. إقرأ المزيد
