presents the development of the concept of “Human Security” as a catalytic concept that links many existing initiatives and to forge links with disparate Human Security actors in a strong global alliance. Human Security has raised lots of question more than solve it. If the concept of Human Security is to be meaningful, then those dimensions of life that reflect people’s humanity (social, cultural, psychological and existential) can only be left out of the equation at great cost. Historically, for instance, cultural differences have provided the backdrop for conflict and insecurity.
In this framework, Islam uniquely recognize the role of culture as a tool for empowerment and building solidarity, rather than something that is seen as being divisive and provocative. However, the tension is most acute and apparent between the Muslim and the Western world.
Confirmly, closer examination reveals that Islam plays important role in achieving Human security by projecting peace in Ummah (which means community or nation), development, human rights and justice. Still, there are lots of barriers that lead to severe dilemmas in Human Security theoretically and empirically. إقرأ المزيد
