نبذة الناشر:"Adam and Juliana is work of fiction, yet it carries objectives deeply rooted in the reality we live in today’s world. The novel does not have a specific setting, as might come to the reader’s mind, and any indications of a defined setting are merely necessitated by the events of ...the story. The characters are entirely fictional, although the reader will feel, after just a few pages, as though they are living alongside people they have known before opening the book.
The names of the characters were chosen with great care so that each name precisely reflects the character’s role in the novel. Adam, for instance—the father of humanity—is placed in a situation where he must restore the lineage of his tribe, which has become extinct. However, the aftermath of what happened to the island that was once his tribe’s homeland leaves him in a physical condition that makes it difficult for him to fulfill this purpose. Yet, with Juliana’s help and understanding, he will manage to do so (which will unfold in the events of the second part).
As for Juliana, her name was selected after an extensive search among French names and their meanings, until one was found that matched her character perfectly. It means “the tall, beautiful girl with long hair, a wheatish complexion, and a strong personality.” Similarly, Aunt Elit’s name means “the elite,” and indeed, in the novel, fate chooses her for the pivotal role she plays in the events.
The novel strives to raise awareness of the dangers posed by scientific and military experiments whose outcomes and consequences cannot be controlled by those conducting them, thereby exposing humanity to grave risks that could even threaten its extinction. The novel attempts to juxtapose the horrific destructive power of nuclear and scientific experiments—whose results humans cannot control or predict—with an extraordinary divine power, to prove that good and evil in the universe are not equally matched; rather, in the end, the scales always tip in favor of good.
The novel does not attempt to imitate stories or novels that have tackled similar themes. Instead, it has created an original narrative style capable of carrying these objectives without inducing boredom or a sense of repetition. At times, the novel’s primary purpose may seem to lose its narrative thread, allowing room for the characters’ emotional experiences to be explored, revealing the objective indirectly and shedding light on how certain entities conceal the experiments they conduct.
Moreover, the novel begins in a way that makes it feel as if it has been excerpted from the middle of the story and placed at the beginning. Similarly, the ending feels sudden, and some significant questions may remain in the reader’s mind, as if the events have not yet concluded. A second or perhaps a third part may answer these questions, but the novel’s ending is certainly satisfying for the reader.
We have also ensured that the novel appeals to a wide range of ages, from adolescence to the elderly—each reading it from their own unique emotional perspective.
