Each lesson is divided into two main parts: the reading selection and the exercises.
The exercises are of various types: the comprehension questions are meant to test the students' comprehension of the reading selections and their ability to express the answers in Arabic; the second exercise is on a variety of language skills; the pattern exercises are grammar drills of two types: substitution drills and transformation drills; the vocabulary exercise is meant to develop the students' active vocabulary; and the oral composition is a comprehensive exercise testing the students' general language ability.
