نبذة نيل وفرات:Two-word verbs are a major problem to students and teachers of English as a foreign language.
The problem with two- word verbs such as, for example, carry out, cool off, give up, find out, make up, take over, warm up is where to place the second word of a two ...word verb in relation to the object of the sentence. Take the verb roll up as an example. We can roll up our sleeves, roll our sleeves up or roll them up, but we cannot roll up them.

It studies the structural and syntactic features of two-word verbs, dividing them into two classes: stress and order characteristics, and transitive or intransitive verbs. Dr. Taha's work has gone further in its study than have previous dictionaries, resulting in a lexicographically advanced volume invaluable to all teachers and students of English. إقرأ المزيد
