We follow the evolution of Al Rais's style, from early figurative work to more recent paintings of calligraphic abstraction. This publication also explores key events in the past five decades as seen through the artist's eyes and intellectual, social and political influences on his work. 'Abdul Qader Al Rais: 50 Years of Art' features essays by curators Maisa Al Qassimi and Sara Bin Safwan, as well as artist and critic Ali Al Abdan.
