Much earlier and with the collapse of the Soviet Union, Islam has been made to fit the new global enemy. ...Partly, this image is created out of the clashes of interests between the Islamic world and the West, especially, the United States, and its unwavering support to Israel against all of the Arab. Partly, the stereotypes about Muslims and Arabs are developed against the background of Muslims resistance to Western imperialism and colonialism, and now the U.S. disproprotionate dominance. From the dominant Western perspective, the conflict between Muslims and the West is therefore basically political and economic, but includes within its background a religious dimension that manifests in right-wing Christian politics and total support to Jewish Israel. The West belives now that while it may rule over part of this Islamic land for some time, it cannot rule all over the Islamic world for all times.
