In the past decades, development projects and globalization have taken a toll on the peoples of developing countries, leading to large amounts of marginalized social groups and a curtailed social role of the State.
I believe that civil society organizations must play a key part in building a "citizen-human” a subject formed by citizens who reject foreign agendas.
Under this model, people are invited to get involved in facing our bitter reality, to interact with what goes on inside and outside the Arab World, especially when it comes to the Palestinian cause, and to contribute to building an engaged, effective citizen, and not sectarian follower.
This plan aligns national liberation with human dignity whilst maintaining as a priority the need to solve major social problems such as; mending the main gaps between poor and rich, rural and urban, man and women and tending to youth problems through a comprehensive plan that brings together the representatives of civil society, the government and the private sector.
This plan could involve all citizens in managing the process of development, in empowering people to enjoy their rights under a new social contract between the State and society, and in globalizing the social struggles and strife of marginalized people rather than authoritarian economic models that disintegrate what is left of society. إقرأ المزيد
