نبذة نيل وفرات:This book was written to give a general idea about the five pillars of Islam and the articles of Faith (Iman).
The pillars of Faith, Iman, enumerated in many verses of the Quran and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, are belief in Allah, in Allah's Angels, ...His books, His Messengers, in the Hereafter and in Qadar (Destiny). These are familiar terms; but the non-Muslim reader would be mistaken if he thought that the Islamic concepts desigmated by them are the same as those of other religions and philosophies. It is hoped that the following exposition, which is itself made in the light of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, will make this point clear.
The five pillars of Islam are: The two testimonies, Prayer, Fasting, Zakat and Pilgrimage. If one wants to embrace Islam, he must begin by mentioning the two testimonies.
Prayer is to be perfoprmed five times a day. Fasting is to be performed from dawn to sunset for one month, Ramadan, every year. Zakat is the purification of money for Muslim. Piligrimage is to be performed once in one's life if he is able to do it.
In fact, Allah does not need our belief in Him, nor does He need our worship and submission to His exalted will; it is we who need his belief in order to correct in our concept of life, the universe and its Creator, and to achieve our happiness and welfare both in this world and in the Hereafter. إقرأ المزيد
