نبذة نيل وفرات:This is a course intended for the First Year students, Faculty of Arts. The main focus of the book is to improve the reading skills of students. Consequently, long passages are included that allow the student to practice all the necessary skills: intensive reading, extensive reading, skimming and scanning. ...Emphasis is also laid on writing and speaking. Most of the exercises included are interactive and aim at stimulating the student’s interest and his/her creative and critical faculties. Role-play and class discussions allow each student to participate in the learning process, rather than simply learn by heart. The approach is text-based, so that all the exercises are derived from the text itself. Teachers may like to supplement the exercises by adding questions on their own.
Because this is a book that will also be used by external, provisions have been made to help them study on their own. Grammatical rules and exercises allow them to understand basics and to work from home. Exercises include direct questions, multiple choice, true or false, grammar, vocabulary and writing.
The passages have been selected to interest the students in all departments of the Faculty of Arts. In this sense, the approach is truly interdisciplinary, since students are required to read about subjects that are not included in their own specialization.
The second part of the book is a short story. The inclusion of a literary text allows all students to appreciate literature and sharpen their critical faculties. It is up to the teachers to include it in the course or not. إقرأ المزيد
