This book, based on a ph.D. dessertation originally submitted by the author at the University of california, los angeles, is one of the frst independent endeavours to test the economic viability of egypt's famous development project.
Different investment criteria implied by the economic theory of choice over time are applied under various assumptions about benfit and cost streams to compute the present value and the rate of return of the project. Problems of evaporation, seepage, sedimentation (silt) and degradation are all discussed in detail and are incorporated into the cost stream of the project.
