نبذة نيل وفرات:With the passage of time, socio-economic forces in Muslim countries began demanding more involvement in national economic and financial activities. Moreover, it became increasingly difficult to engage in trade and other activities without making use of a commercial bank. Consequently, Muslim intellectuals began turning to Islamic banks.
By offering subistence ...guarantees and somewhat protecting wealth from being squandered or inappropriately investe, Islamic Banking becomes a vital element in promoting tranquility in society, particularly as a means of escaping an interest-based system of micro financing when dealing with the poor.
However, Islamic banking is a young, yet growing, phenomenon and faces many challenges.
This book includes the research papers which were presented to the Islamic Banking Conference, which the Union of Arab Banks organized in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, in December 2004. Also some material in the book is taken fom other similar conferences. We hope that Arab bankers, in general, and Islamic bankers, in specific, would find benefit in this book.
